How To Install
Use an extractor program such as WinZip on the desktop PC to get the Battle Planet files. Install the game by double-clicking the .exe file, which opens the Install Tool program. Follow the instructions of the Install Wizard and finish the instalation. Go to Start Menu / Programs / Games where you will find a shortcut to the game.
How to Play Battle Planet
The game area consists of a playing field and status bar.
There are some obstacles situated over the playing field:
Asteroid block - You cannot go through it unless you shoot it twice to destroy it.
Iron asteroid block - You cannot go through it and you cannot destroy it, just pass it by.
Stars - You can go throuhg them and you will be able to see you ship under the stars.
Space fog - You cannot go through it but you can shoot across it.
Enemy space ships you must destroy:
FF3 light (Flying Fish) - Easy to destroy, just shoot it once .
CS4 medium (Crawling Seal) - You can destroy it by shooting it twice.
SK5 heavy (Space Knight) - Difficult to destroy, you have to shoot it three times.
You can get some sort of supplies, given like bonuses, that will help you during the mission:
Life - Increases your life with 1.
Immortality - You become immortal (start blinking) for a few seconds, you can shoot the enemies but they cannot shoot you.
Speed - Increases you movement speed for a couple of seconds.
Power - You get power to use your double shooting weapon.
Defence - You get stronger protection for your base space station and the enemy ships cannot destroy it, even if they shoot it.
Golden coin - Gives you 100 additional points to the points you gain from stage.
Status bar:
Menu button - returns you to the main menu.
Life - Shows your lifes.
Stage - Shows the current stage.
Points - Shows the points you gain from stage. You gain from destroied enemies, golden coins and destroied asteroid block:
FF3 - 30 points
CS4 - 60 points
SK5 - 90 points
Golden coin - 100 points
Asteroids block - 5 points
Bonus - Shows the current bonus you have taken. It is visable as long as the bonus lasts.
Status bar also shows the number of enemies you face each stage. At the begining of the stage the full number is shown and it decreases as soon as an enemy comes into view.
Controls
The game is controlled by the hardware buttons marked with arrows and numbers on the picture and the menus are controlled by the stylus.
Button marked with arrows - Use this button to fly your ship Up, Down, Left or Right.
Buttons marked with 1 - Use these buttons to shoot.
GameSettings
The Menu of the game consists of the following options/screens - Start Game/Resume, High Scores, Options, Registration, Help, About and Exit. If you access the Options settings you will be able to activate/deactivate the sound, to choose the level of difficulty as well as to set the game speed.
Tips
You cannot fire more than one shot at the same time!
If you have exit the game in the middle of a stage, the game saves the last reached stage. Next time you tap Start Game the game will ask you whether you want to continue last played game or to start a new one.
Registering
The demo version is completely functional. You can play up to first 4 stages of Battle Planet.
